Throughout the 142-year history of the Northern Ireland Football Association, we have only qualified for the FIFA World Cup on three occasions. However, our most significant achievement came on a memorable night in Valencia, June 25th, 1982, at the Louis Casanova Stadium. On that remarkable evening, we secured a momentous victory against the host nation and one of the World Cup favourites, Spain.
