It’s time for you all to meet our Site Managers, Ruairi Burns & Alex Shannon.

Both Ruairi and Alex have vast experience in the Irish tourism industry, and they’re more than ready to run the show at Thompson Dock. Talking of the launch of our new Distillery & Visitor Centre, they said:

"Our visitor experience will walk the footsteps of this industrial maritime site and embrace the spirit of Titanic Distillers. We're very excited to showcase our location and bring whiskey production back to Belfast.”

Ahead of our launch this Spring, our Site Managers have been leading their new team of tour guides - training and building their experience of our distillery and historical site.

This has been no small feat, with the sourcing, construction and design of our upcoming experience being carefully curated and assembled to tell the story of our historic location, while working on creating our own history; by being the first working Irish Whiskey distillery in Belfast for almost 90 years.

What part of the day-to-day activities of Titanic Distillers at Thompson Dock are you most excited for?

“It’s been a long wait to get here, and the entire team are eager to show off our new home. We can’t wait to finally share the space with visitors. It’s been a long wait to get here, and the entire team are eager to show off our whiskey experience to everyone."

What are some facts that makes Titanic Distillers at Thompson Dock unique?

“There are any number of things about our site that make it unique – from The Pumphouse being a listed building, Thompson Dock being a national monument, and the fact that we have the first working distillery in Belfast in 87 years, which is also distilling below sea level. You’d be hard pressed to find things that aren’t unique about our site!”
